Katherine Rose Sullivan's first love in life was visual art, but her interest quickly grew into fashion design when she realized she focused the most on the clothes the people in her drawings were wearing than anything else .To comb through her portfolio, is to take a quirky, kitchy journey through pop culture, iconography, and style.
She recently graduated from the Pratt Institute with BFA in Fashion Design and a Minor in Art History. At Pratt, her fashion studies were integrated with illustration, photography, fine art, and costume history, and these disciplines are evident in Sullivan's work.
As a designer, Sullivan combines retro themes with a sense of humor and wit, and balances whimsy with a chic esthetic. Her work has been featured in the Houston Museum of Contemporary Art, Interior Design Magazine's Fashion Issue, and in the much sought after window displays of Macy's and Neiman Marcus.
She is currently based in New York City.
